Torqe Converter Question

I'm looking into Vigalante 2800 TCs and am seeing a difference between them. There are single disk lock ups, 3 disk lock ups, and 5 disk lock ups, and the price goes up for the extra disks. What is the difference between them?

Re: Torqe Converter Question

The extra discs are for full throttle lockups. These are not necessary in the vast majority of cases. What kind of driving you will do?

Re: Torqe Converter Question

Read the sticky on "Lockup Converters". As was said above, the additional firction area will increase the torque capacity of the lockup mechanism. It looks like you have a relatively stock motor, which is the other variable besides type of use. The converter manufacturer should be able to advise you on this.

The usual daily driving which at times can be pretty hard, and every other weekend or so I like to head down to the track. One important thing I think should be taken into consideration is that my drive to my house is a good 4 miles uphill. I am getting a 224/230 so somewhere along the lines I'm going to need a good converter.
