thinking of buying a used tranny

thinking of buying a used tranny

but my question is how tuff are these 4l60es? i broke my first one at 129k if i spin to 6500 like i ahve been will i ruin another one? or should i seek out my wanted m6 conversion?

Its kind of a guessing game as to their strength levels. I believe they are rated to handle 350hp/350ft-lbs. Some people have run well-modded motors on stock 4L60-Es at the track, and others less so fortunate have had theirs break on the street on stock motors.

The '60E CAN be built to handle an amazing amount of abuse. The trick is finding someone who's capable of building one to do so. Unless you plan on running deep in the 10's, or plan on cutting anything lower than high 1.4 60ft. time, a PROPERLY built 60E can handle your needs.
