taking transnission apart

taking transnission apart

hey guys im gonna take my tramsnission apart because the internal of it is damaged. but the thing is that i have never taken a transnission apart before so can you all give me tips on how to do this. does anyone have some sort of guide on how to do this.

The ATSG manual is most reprints from the factory gm service manual. They run $20 or so and are about the best out there. They also make a 4l60e upgrade book that lists the upgrades(and when they occurred) from gm. It also lists part numbers and tells what retrofits back and how.

take lots of digital pics of everything you take apart, there are lots of small pieces that all look the same
