my tranny has a clunk to it when I take off and whenever I let out on the gas and hit it again.. well tonight I got the car in the air and started moving the back tire back and fourth while it was in gear and there it was.. the most god awfull clunk comeing from the tranny.. so I yanked the tranny out now I got it sitting on the floor and if I stick the DS in it and hold the front shaft and move the DS its got play... not very much but enuff to make a bad little clunking sound inside the tranny.. my question is.. is this small amount of play normal or should there be no play at all.. I would think this is not normal becuase it is very loud when its in the car you can feel the clunk in the floorboard.. what could cause this play in the tranny??
