T-56 swap into silverado

Just wondering if it would be possible to swap out the factory 5 speed in my 2004 silverado 4wd with the ls based 4.8l v8 with my t-56? I don't know if the silverado tranny has the integrated bellhousing or not, or if the t-56 would even fit...

I realize that this is a silverado question but figured someone would have an idea as to weather i'm dreaming or not. I dropped a bit of coin on the t-56 and would hate to waste it!

Thanks in advance!

That's positive! Some silverados came factory with 6 speeds, but I'm not sure about the dimensions and actually mating a t-56. Thanks!

I don't know anything about any of the technical stuff though.

Do it!

There might be some custom fab work involved, but there's no reason to think it's not possible. If you're lucky, some enterprising third party has already done the work and offers some or all of the parts you'd need to fab!
