Street twin issues

I Got my street twin installed this weekend, and I got about 100 miles on it now, the problem I am having is that it is making a lot of chatter when taking off, is this somthing i should be concerned with or should I let it compleatly break in before I pull out the tranny again????

Re: Street twin issues

I didnt have any issues with mine, but I know some people have. A lot of people say the chatter went away after getting some miles on it.

Re: Street twin issues

I wonder would putting a poly tranny mount make it feel better or worse???

How about bleeding my clutch system mabe if there is still some air left in there it could be giving me problems???

A poly mount will trasfer the vibration through the chassis even more.

Yeah dont go poly if you have chatter issues. Did you just change the clutch or did you also get a lighter flywheel?

Re: Street twin issues

I had horible chatter with a spec2 until I swapped in a LS1 tranny mount and poly motor mounts. Very tolerable now.

I just put it in with the flywheel it came with, also It dosn't chatter at all when the car is cold but after it warms up is when i notice it the most.

Re: Street twin issues

mine and most people have bad chattering at first with the ST. It took me a few thousand miles for it to totaly go away. I also had to learn how to drive it a little different, I still get a little chatter if i let it out wrong. After a few K and a little change in your driveing it will be smooth. Trust me i know what your going trough but it will pass . this is what you get for buying a clutch that can hold 1000 hp Make sure you let it break in for 500 miles before beating on it at all.

P.S. on a side note i hope you dont have the stock rear still . Because its not going to last for very long
