Stock Shifter?

Hi,

I haven't seen this type in any photos. I'm assuming the 4 bolts on each corner and the shifter comes out? Inspecting it, it's old and needs replaced. I saw a nice one at Hawk's Motorsports that has great reviews.

It's that case around the base of the shifter I'm not familiar with. Does that disassemble from the 3 little metal clasps around it?

Make sure to pull the nylon isolator “cup” that remains in the trans ball socket, to reuse with the new shifter (unless Hawks includes one). They apparently offer a bronze replacement. When installing the new shifter, run a thin bead of RTV around the top of the trans opening.

Will do! Found my friction disk springs broken in 2 places, and throw out bearing toast. The clutch fork seems pretty worn, so I'm ordering one with pivot T, and the transmission will go back in a couple weeks.

I'm going with an aluminum billet flywheel, SPEC Stage 2 Plus clutch kit, new pilot bearing, throw out bearing, and rear main seal while I'm in there. I replaced the master n slave cylinder already, new hydraulics too.
