Me and a few friends just finished up installing a T56 in my car. The toughest part was the pedal assembly itself...then just lining up where to drill for the master/slave cylinder. The next toughest part was lining up the transmission with the pilot bearing...we had to keep removing the entire assembly in order to use the clutch alignment tool.

Once all that was done, everything else was pretty easy. Good luck and take your time!

Hmmm... I thought the pedals and master cyl were easy. I did both by myself. What I hate is feckin with chit under the car.

~70%.

Here's what was accomplished yesterday. Mind you I'm doing this without any help at all.

Pedals & hydrolics are installed, steering column is back in, hole cut for shifter tower, rear main seal, pilot bushing, flywheel, clutch & pressure plate, bellhousing. I also cut the dust shield so it could be removed without removing the starter.

Mystic95Z,
I'm doing the opposite swap. M6 to A4. for the life of me, I can't find out what Dia. and teeth count are on the flywheel and flexplate for each. (I never had either one) could you please tell me what your flexplate was, and your flywheel is? The '94 LT1 I bought (originally M6) is without any flywheel and I want to use a 4L60E, but which flexplate? 153 or 168 tooth? Thanks

I'm pretty sure it is the lower number. That is the one that rings bells in my head, but I got done the A4 to M6 swap about 2 months ago.

Got my swap under way. Got all out but the trans, It is taking me a couple of days because of working so much. I am so busy at work, lots of custom pistons need to be made. I will have the trans out tomorrow and will be swaping everything saturday. Please check out my question on the same discussion board about the wiring harnesses, I need help.
Thanks
