ok, my trans is comin out again this coming week so i figure i should go ahead and get the stall converter that i inevitably shrugged off when i had it rebuilt originally, so im cruious as to what would be a good stall for a daily driven very light bol on 94 Z28, only mods are true duals with bullet mufflers and a CAI from moroso, well the trans too but that doesnt change the power im puttin out
anyway whats a good stall for this type of application? im thinkin around a low 1800-2100 would be good but how would it affect leaving a redlight and gas mileage?

A 1800-2100 stall would likely be too low for optimal performance. I would suggest a stall around 2600-2800, which would give a much larger performance gain. If you do go under 2100, it can be done for a much lower price. Honestly, though, even saving the money, it would not be worth it.

You'd see no difference(at least that you'd feel) I think stock is 1800. You'll want the 2800. Tons of people driving 2800 daily drivers.....this will hurt gas milage slightly--you'd have to ask the guys running the 2800's for numbers though. Remember though, it will only hurt you if you do a lot of stop and go driving--if you are on the open freeway the converter will lock up and you will not lose any mpg.

well see thats my problem, this use to be a really small town and stop and go was almost never, but now its rediculous. crawl to school at stop-5mph for about 10 mins each mornin, same thing on the way out. and my car has the OBD1 computer so dont i have to reprogram if i go 2800 or bigger? and i think the factory stall is around 1400.. cause my car turns the tires over if i hold it down past that... well it did before i got the fuzions anyway, havent tried since then but im sure it would. stalled would mean that with brake-torque applied it wouldnt move until the stalled rpm right? or am i confused on how these work... thanks for the suggestion though, ill just hold onto my money for now if a 2100 isnt a worthy difference
