Spec Stage II people... share your experience
I just recently installed a Spec Stage II in my car and was wondering how others liked it. I am personally not too crazy about it. Granted I only put 100miles on it,but it is nearly impossible to go in reverse smoothly, driving in stop & go traffic is a pain, and it makes a hell of a lot of noise. The TO bearing that was included is pure junk, it was loose when new and now that I put it in, it makes more noise then my old stocker - that was already shot!
I want to hear your guys' opinions who are running this setup. How is the noise (in neutral and in gear), how does it grab, and do you have vibrations?
I want to know if I have a freak or is this the norm. If this is normal I'm calling mccleod real soon.

Your experience sounds exactly like mine. I have posted in other threads about my "fix" What I did was installed a new LS! tranny mount, and poly motor mounts. It drives almost like a new car, and dayum does that clutch ever grab. I was ready to give up on it, but I'm really happy witht he way things work now.
BTW, you would do well to tend to those matters fairly quickly. My driveline was banging so hard before the new mounts, that I busted my pinion gear. I just got done installing the new Diff. today. It sounds good!

Hey I was looking at getting the spec stage 3 w/ steel flywheel for mine. my 383 is being built right now and trying to find the best clutch and flywheel for a reasonable amount. Anyone know if the spec steel flywheel is internally balanced or not. The guy thats building my motor says thats a must for these higher power motors. thanks

i only have a stage one, but, give it over a thousand miles, and it will harden up, and become easier to use also, at first i hated mine because there was hardly any pressure, now its stiffer. i like mine, but its not a stage two
