I was told to drive the car easy for the first 500 miles to break in a new clutch - No full throttle or anything - Just easy/slow driving. I already put 250 miles on the clutch. I was just wondering how many miles did you spec owners put on your new clutch before you started to abuse it. Spec told me 500 miles. The shop that installed the clutch deals with spec clutches and they told me 400 miles. Should it be okay to start abusing the clutch at 400 miles??? Clutch feels better everytime I drive the car. No regrets on the spec 4 for a street car. I cannot even tell the difference between the stock clutch - Just in take off but nothing to hold me back on taking the car on a long long trip

 

I'd say around 400-500 is when I starting really "testing" the clutch out...the more miles you put on it the easier it gets to drive and the less chattering you will hear..

i did the 500 as called for...

but it chattered all the way up to about 1000 miles...then finally stopped.
