some help would be nice

ok so i have a 97 ss camaro just put new clutch and flywheel in changed to full sinthic luics oil in rear end at same time, but now my rear end is makeing a noise when i turn, and did the other day when backing up mostly sounds like a tire rubbing. Iv checked everything so i figured something in side the rear end. I tracked the noise to the rear end as i rolled it back and forthe on the lift i know about (back lash). So then took off my cover expecting to find some metal shaveing in there and there is nothing. Every one is saying its the locker and they gotta replace it (none servicable) is what iv been told. They want to do a compleat rear end build for like 1200 big ones and i dont got that right now, so any ideas I got the cove off still, o and btw car has less then 48,000 miles on it plz any help at all

thanks so much danny...

Since you narrowed the noise down to the rear, I would try some standard lube with the GM limited slip additive instead of synthetic.

Which differential do you have? The stocker I believe was an Auburn disc type limited slip. On the SS SLP offered the Torsen unit as an option. Neither is a "locker" in the traditional sense.

The Torsen can suffer from what is described as a "rusty screw" noise, and GM recommended that the GM limited slip additive be used to quiet the noise.

Same question I already asked - Which type differential do you have - the Auburn or the Torsen?
