ring gear

is the ring on a 10 bolt chevy a 8.5 or 8.2 or 7.5? or are they different depnding on the car? mine is a 97 with lt1 6-speed?

The 3rd Gen and 4th Gen F-Body 10-bolt rear axle assemblies utilize a 7.50" or 7.625" (interchangeable) ring gear. The larger diameter ring gears were used in earlier GM rear axle assemblies.

yeah thanks i mesured mine it was 7.5
