you might need to have the flywheel resurfaced, make sure you hold the fork up on the way back in with the tranny, also your gonna have to pull your shifter, these are some snags i had

I've done 2 clutch replacements. I run a Spec #3 on a 97ss MM6. I always had problems with alignment of the trans bell, input shaft bearing @ crankshaft, and clutch spline. I found that close alignment of the trans @ re-assembly was difficult.

Don't use bell hseing bolt to daw the assy together. Thd strippage is a result.

I reassembled the clutch actuator, and, pressed the clutch pedal by hand. This allowed the clutch disc to float free and align with the shaft and pilot bearing, and bell pins. Tras will be pulled tight to the engine.

This does not work with F-bods w/ the LS1 engine option since gm changed the action of the trans clutch from push to pull.

This proceedure helped me the most and made it very easy. Of course, it was not in the book. B.

It's for this reason I bought a used T56 input shaft for the alignment. It works so much better/consistently than those plastic tools that come with the clutch kits.

Here's my original write up from my first clutch replacement back in 1996. I'm surprised it's still out there lol...

I'm re-reading this now and the task in item #13 should occur before task #11. AND... it's not two bolts that hold the slave on but two 13mm nuts on threaded rods.
