Pulled the motor and tranny today...

Pulled the engine/tranny so I could replace the heads, cam gear, oil pump, rear main seal, poly motor mounts, remove old bad clutch and replace with race ready TH350.
It begins...

Free at last!!!

Hey! I lost my car!!!

Only took 3 concrete blocks to get high enough to clear the motor, still on wheels.

6 year old SPEC 4 still looks good, visually anyway.

SPEC Stage 4 Pressure plate and clutch disc. Rivets have been hitting...

Hmmm... odd... not all the clutch facing has been in contact.

The flywheel looks colored but not damaged.

I'm dropping the Flywheel and pressure plate off to get them resurfaced

Yeah. It was a bit cool at 8am (34 degrees) but by 10, it was getting closer to mid 50's or higher. Turned out to be a fantastic day.

Thanks! I really love the car in this configuration. It's the most perfect fun car I could imagine.

Thanks! I've pulled her all the way apart now and have the ported LT1 castings as well as the Canfields at the machine shop, getting them both flowed.

I'm having it honed and re-ringed since I've got her down this far. Might as well

Hopefully, it'll get back to me by next week and I can have her put back together soon.

Got in contact with SPEC and they said, "No can do" on the resurface of the pressure plate. They can sell me a replacement SPEC 4 setup. Maybe sometime in the future. I'm dying to try out this Automatic setup with the Turbo.

Though it was 76 or so here today, I *think* they're closed for the season. Not sure...

Got good news on the cylinder(s). The machinist said he see's no reason to hone/re-ring the block. I'll be working on reassembling it this weekend.
