powerglide

Is there anyone with a 3500 pound race wieght car running a powerglide? I was thinking od doing a pg. I know the 400 would be better but I want a pg and was wandering if there is anyone with the a working set up?

Re: powerglide

The first gear is too high for a 3,500lb car, unless it had a couple of thousand hp from a "mountain motor" or something. Standard first gear in a PG is 1.76:1. This is ~40% less gear than a TH400 (2.48:1). There are PG gearsets as low as 2.11:1. That might work, but then the huge gap between low and high would be a problem.

I don't think it would work.

Re: powerglide

Powerglides are for people that keep blowing up their 400s
