Re: posi
Auburn is another brand. Auburn and Eaton are both good brands. They lock the wheels together and un-lock them around corners. Cheapest price would be used. 4th gen's came with auburns stock. Unless it has the SLP options, than it has a torxen. (I think that's it)

will that kit work on my rear axle? and how much better is it to have a 12 bolt with the posi and 4.10 gears compared to the 10 bolt with eaton posi and 4.10 gears? is it worth the extra money? will it be able to handle about as much and lost just about as much hp on the rw? and will i notice a difference with the eaton posi?
thanks

Re: posi
As far as noticing the difference, it depends. Some are really tight and you can notice a difference around corners. But if you mean difference in traction, no unless the posi you have now is dead. A 12 bolt is expensive and will be more noticeable over a 10 bolt. 12 bolts are also a lot stronger and can hold up to a lot more power.
Is the posi you have now dead? If not why fix it?

Re: posi
Entry level cost of a Moser, or Strange F-Body 12 bolt is around $2,400. The Auburn 10 bolt posi uses a clutch-cone, whereas the 12 bolt uses discs and plates. Auburn also offers a 10 bolt Pro-Series posi unit, but I don't know exactly what the performance improvement is.
If you're running at the strip with slicks and lauching at 4-5K with a manual, your 10 bolt probably isn't going to live too long. Therefore, You'll need to invest in a 12 bolt, althought, if this is a steet car the 10 bolt should last.
