I am installing my Torque Converter soon and wanted to know what brand/type fluid you've had good luck with. Thanks.

I tried Redline D4 with good results..... Now I am trying Royal purple.... No probs here....

Probably will stay with Royal purple.....

 

I like TCI's racing fluid from Jegs.

 

Frank told me there's no need to be picky with tranny fluid...as long as it's Dexron III / Mercon, you're fine. He told me he uses NAPA fluid, so that's what I've been running and no complaints here.

 

Thanks guys and Cmr0z28. All I know is many people keep away from Synthetics...not sure why but supposedly the 4L60E doesnt like to be pampered.

Heh the only problem with the NAPA stuff is that it smells like vomit

Dunno what is up with that stuff.

Anywho, I just use the cheapo Valvoline DexronIII, no problems, stock tranny, lots of abuse.

 

Really, Vomit? Hmm, I bought some today and I'll try it. If you look closely enough the Napa stuff is made by the same folks as Valvoline. Sometimes the cheap stuff just works.

You guys use rubber pan gaskets not cork right?

Dunno. .it's weird, they smell nothing alike. My friend's car runs the NAPA stuff and I run the cheap Valvoline.. totally different smell lol
