P1810 code...what to do?

Was hoping some of you could help me out here...

The past few times I drove the car, the converter lockup has been acting all funny. I would lock, unlock, lock, unlock, etc and then eventually just stay unlocked.

Last night my SES light came on and I got a P1810

-DTC P1810
TFP Valve Position Switch Circuit

I don't know where this thing is located or how hard it is to change. Can anyone please provide some insight? Thanks!

Generally a good idea to use an LT1 specific code list, not a generic one. Shoebox has the LT1 OBD-I and OBD-II engine and tranny code list on his website:

http://shbox.com/1/Dtcs.htm

P1810 = Pressure Switch Assembly (PSA) Circuit Malfunction

Not that I know where that is.... but at least you have the correct code description.

Re: P1810 code...what to do?

The TFP switch is located in the trans pan, attached to the valve body. It is very simple to replace, check to make sure it isnt unplugged, or any wiring is rubbed through. It is held on with (2) 8mm bolts and (3) 10 mm bolts...If all the wiring is okay, you may want to clean off the sensors and try it before you replace it. Beware that sometimes the sensors come apart when you remove it from the valve body..the rubber o-rings stick to the valve body.....

Thanks, I'll give it a shot once I figure out why my belt just flew apart and got chewed up around my AC compressor.
