Not sure about this car

I bought a 1996 Z28, has man extras on it. it's an automatic. i was just wondering the gear ratio of the rear end. it has moser axels and richmond gears. just not sure what the gears are. for instance running a steady 70 i tach around 2500 rpm, when i run 50 i tach around 2000-2100. Any ideas what the gearing is? is it low enough to be 4:10?

Yes, they are 4.10's granted stock wheels and tires.

Re: Not sure about this car

Inserting the stock tire diameter (wheel diameter has no affect) in my 4L60E spreadsheet yields, for 4th Gear (0.696 O/D):

50 MPH - 1,871 RPM

70 MPH - 2,619 RPM

Note that stock tire diameter can be either 26.1" (235/55-16 tires on base Z28) or 25.7" (Z-rated 245/50-16 tire option). My calcs used 25.7".

Remember that the stock tach typically reads 100-200 RPM higher than actual engine RPM.
