1998 LS1 w/ LS7 Clutch?

I have heard that the LS7 is a great choice clutch for the LS1. Who has done this? I looked through stuff online and got different results, including a part number discrepancy. I chose a Spec Stage 1 last time and am regretting it. I wanted something that could handle more power as I had hoped to get some work done on the car. The break-in period was 6 months+ and once it was broken in, it is pretty stiff compared to any stock clutch. I don't know that the trade off was worth it. I am used to it, but want something a little easier next. I have heard the stock LS7 clutch holds power but drives like stock clutch. If you have done this, please tell me what parts are necessary to be replaced (including part numbers please) and tell me if you like the results.

If I have just ranted forever, and missed a thread that exists already explaining all of this, please let me know.

Thanks!

The LS7 clutch is a good choice for the money. I have a friend with one in his car and it drives like stock. Holds decent power as long as you don't go crazy with big H/C/I and all the bolt on's. For all that I would suggest a Monster kit. I think you could get by with just doing the clutch and be fine.

LS7 clutch is the money shot for GTO owners. That's what'll be going on my '04.
