Not shifting to fourth

I left a red light and it took off fine but it never hit 4th. I put it in N then pulled it back in overdrive still wouldnt go in 4th. i pulled over and when i went to take off it wouldnt go in 1st it would only go in 2nd and 3rd after that it felt like it was sliping in those gears. Reverse still pulls. Is it fried?

Any SES lights? What condition is the fluid in? Does it look dark...Brown or black? Does it smell burnt?
Your "A" solenoid has to be on for 1st and 4th. This could be a solenoid issue. If you need any further help, please feel free to give me a call. 302-250-1202

Thanks,
Frank

the trans in these cars can have codes in it and not set the ses light, have the car scanned with a scanner that can get trans codes, not just engine codes

the codes for solenoids usually reset each engine re-start

Well there would appear to be your answer, I would replace it fist then see what happens you can do it yourself in just a few minutes by dropping the pan ,Generally I replace both the 1-2 and the 2-3 solenoid as a set which you may want to consider

Did you notice alot of black sediment in the bottom of the pan? It sounds like your 3-4 clutches might be on the way out.
