You may get a better response on "Drivetrain" rather than "Car Audio and Electronics". I'll move the thread there for you.

Have you scanned it for codes? Sounds like a vehicle speed sensor (VSS) fault. Check the VSS (tailshaft of the transmission) and make sure the harness is plugged in to the sensor.

Like Fred said. The computer needs to see VSS before it will command the trans to shift. It's most likely either the VSS itself or the wiring.connector.
