I think its finally bye bye and time for a rebuild on my transmission. Going from a stop light and gave it a little gas and then i realised it was reving in every gear. Every gear was just reving, its an auto the only thing that worked was park orthers just reved! Had it towed home, im assuming its toast, does it sound like thats normal when it gos out or does it sound like something that can be fixed without a rebuild. Also what should I expect just for a simple rebuild that can last me for a few months or so untill i can go into the military.

There's only a few things that will make a transmission have a "no move" condition. The front pump, the torque converter, or the output shaft has snapped. The only other obvious thing would be if it's not picking up fliud for some reason. Low fliud, clogged filter, or the filter falling out of pump. In rare occassions, a pressure regulator valve will blow the snap ring out of the pump to cause a no move, also.

so then do you think im in need of a rebuild? I mean im sure they will try to screw me and say i do, but it didnt make any noise when it did it, it just all the sudden started to rev!
