no 2nd or 4th gear in fresh 700r4

I had a shop do a performance rebuild on my 700. He said it had borg warner clutches and a transgo shift kit. When i first drove the car it only had 1, 2, and 3, after a couple of miles it started shifting into 4th. I drove it for a day like this and rather suddenly lost 2nd gear entirely, shifts from 1st to 3rd, and lost 4th gear about 5 min after that.
I took it back to the shop and he said that some valves were sticking, so they took the VB apart and cleaned it. Worked for a little while then began it's old tricks. This time they replaced the VB, 5 miles later and it's back to no 2nd or 4th.

I've tried setting the TV cable just about every way you can and I've yanked it to try and unstick anything.

I'm getting sick of this thing and am just about to put my old TH350 back in. Any comforting words or bits of advice would be welcomed.

Tranny has <200mi on it.

EDIT:I'm just gonna put the TH350 in until i can do an M6 swap.

Ever hear of a shop called CPT? You've obviously been taken by a underqualified transmission shop. You've definitely got issues with the 2-4 band or the 2-4 apply (servo) piston.

Don't blame the transmission just because you've ran across someone who doesn't know how to build one. The 700R4 and 4L60E are both waaay better transmissions than a Th350 could ever think of being. They can also be built just as strong as a TH350.

If you want the A4 built right, give me a call. 302-250-1202

Thanks,
Frank

the reason I'm having the 350 put back in is so i can drive the car and still get my money back. I've got the 350 and install kit sitting in my garage. Then I can decide to go to a better shop for a 700(you) or get a t56(i've wanted one for a while now).

which of your transmissions would you suggest for a mid-low 12sec car

a stalled auto is way better than a stick anyday..way more fun and faster...

cpt will take care of you on the tranny and you wont break it! i gaurantee that...ive had 2 of them now and they have taken care of me flawlessly...spraying all tha way into 4th gear...1.50 60'
my car makes over 600 ft lb of tq at 3000rpm when i launch and i dont have any problems...and i drive it on the street like a regular tranny

Thanks for considering us for your rebuild I'd really suggest the "Pro Race" build for something you're beating on pretty hard. Let me know if we can do anything else for you.
