Unhappy My 88 jeep is stuck in first? Please help! :)

Hey you guys my jeep ripped the pinion and ujoint a block away from my house. Anyways I took out the driveshaft and drove it home in 4WD (some fluid came out). Well it sat in front of my house then today I pulled it up in the garage, took out the pinion, then got in the jeep and reversed it out. Well when i went into first it would not go anywhere, like the front wheels were stuck. I tried 3rd gear also. Well i just reversed the other direction and stopped. My question is did i just **** up my transmission or what . Im going to put in the driveshaft and fill up the fluid, could it just be the fluid? thanks

PS when it is off and it is in neutral and its in N for the stick that changes it from 2H 4H N 4L it still wont budge, it can only go in reverse
