McLeod [screwed] Up w/ Street Twin Recent Buyers Inside!!
Well, I assembled the Street Twin following McLeod's directions to the letter. Once everything was bolted back up, master cylinder installed and bled, and oil was put in the tranny, I tried to start her up. Right away a LOUD banging noise and no go. At first I thought it was my starter, but once I looked underneath, it turns out my slave cylinder was ejected, breaking off the plastic ends that once held it onto the studs, and my clutch fork had a 1/4" groove cut into it -- from what you ask? Turns out the damn studs that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel are too f'in long and caused all of this. I called McLeod and they admitted that it was their fault and told me to send everything back in for inspection.
This thread is a head's up for anyone who recently purchased a Street Twin -- check to make sure the bolts are flush with the pressure plate. I am in no way bashing McLeod, I actually commend them on their great customer service. The clutch felt very smooth before this **** happened, sux that I have to tear everything apart again
