M6 to 4l60e Swap???!!!
M6 to 4l60e Swap???!!!
I'm all for this depending on what it entails. I'm assuming:
Transmission
Brake Pedal/Bracket
Shifter
Console Surround
Aftermarket Cooler/Lines
X-Member
Flexplate
Computer?
It seems the M6 and 4l60e have the same driveshaft and I could leave my 3.42 rear end intact and have a nice step down compared to the 3.23s that the automatics had. Other than that I would imagine I'd just be filling in holes (such as clutch hoses, etc...).
I just need to know about the wiring aspect of it all. Are the 4l60e transmissions computer controlled in a f-body ??? If so, would my car have connectors for an automatic transmission in its wiring harness (EX. older fords had extra connectors for available options even if you're car was not equipped with them.
Will an automatic's computer (corner of pass side engine bay) plug into my M6 and does this control the transmission???
Any other ideas please post!

Re: M6 to 4l60e Swap???!!!
Well well, where are you located? I have an A4 and therefore everything you would need in my car including aftermarket cooler and 300RPM torque convertor... and since I want to go M6 this may work out... Yes your driveshaft will work. And yes you can plug in an A4 PCM but it would be easier just to reprogram your PCM for the A4 and I have the capability to do that.
