Question LS1 with a LT1 T-56?

Could this be made to work? And I know the differences in the clutch styles etc, hence why I'd prefer to keep the LT1 style clutch.
I know guys have been adapting Ls1/LT1 T-56s to Gen I SBC, anyone heard about them doing it the other way around??

Thanks!

Basically, the only real difference in the transmission itself is the input shaft (which also carries 4th gear). The length is different between LT1/LS1, so you'd need the LT1 shaft to work with your LT1 engine (I'm assuming this is for your '94 Firehawk?). The input shaft can be changed out by pulling the front adapter plate off the tranny ... not a ~5 minute job, but it actually shouldn't take that much to do.

Obviously (which I think you realize) you'd also have to stick with the LT1 clutch setup, which also means using the LT1 bellhousing.

You will also need an LT1 adapter plate. The LS1 uses a push-type slave cylinder mounted on the input shaft, while the LT1 uses a fork pullback. The plate accounts for the difference in mounting these.
