LS1 DS yoke on LT1?

Would a DS from an LS1 fit onto an LT1 yoke with an LT1 u-joint, or do you need an LS1 u-joint? I tried posting this question in an existing post, but the subject was misleading and no one answered. Thanks.

The LS1 DS and the LT1 I believe are the same.

Re: LS1 DS yoke on LT1?

it has different measurements for the 93-02 steel DS for T-56 and the aluminum DS for 98-02. the yoke length for the 93-02 steel is much longer. is this right? i thought the DS was the same no matter what tranny you had.

Re: LS1 DS yoke on LT1?

The complete driveshaft can be swapped without a problem as the overall length is practically the same. If you want to go swapping LS1 and LT1 front yokes, you might get into trouble as they are not the same length.

You can swap them directly as long as both are a one-piece shaft.
