The simplest way is to buy a conversion. They pop up for sale frequently on this site. It should include the trans, bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, crossmember, pedals, hydraulics, lines ,all bolts, and a shifter. You'll also need a shift plate for the console, some wiring pigtails, and a retune on your PCM. Depending on your current rear ratio you may want to change that as well. There is at least one site on the internet that is extremely informative. Hopefully someone can chime in here with that link and anything else I may have omitted. It is a money and work commitment but it sure is fun rowing six gears in one of these!

I had the complete kit, including the trans (T-56) the directions etc. Blew a couple of those 4l60-e's and figured I'd be bucks-up to go ahead and make the swap. I even rebuilt the T-56 I had bought and put the billet shift fork and new synchro's

However....There are still issues in selecting the correct clutch plate-flywheel combo.

There is a shift kit and torque converter set-up for the 94 4l60-e that will pretty much make your blues go away. Mine's lasted for over a year and a half now and I'm still shifting hard spilling rider's coffee and burning rubber.

Price-wise $$$$ the correct rebuild on my 4L60-e was 2700.00 they swapped the trans.

The T-56 kit if your lucky will be the same price excluding the clutch-flywheel combo.

There's a rebuild with photo's for the T-56 on another forum

Good luck hope this helps
Chris
