losing power with a 9 inch?

losing power with a 9 inch?

how much power will i actually lose to the wheels.

9% with a 12 bolt

12% with a 9 inch

The numbers I saved from an article in National Dragster several years ago:

Dana 60: 5%
GM 12-bolt: 7%
Ford 9-inch: 10%

Those are the losses just for the rear axle.... power into the pinion shaft vs. power out at the hubs.

wow i thought the Dana 60 would be basically the same as a 12bolt....
