Re: Installing Short Stick?

The answer is right on the ws6store website:
Installation is a breeze and takes only 5-10 minutes with minimal mechanical skills. Remove the shifter boot, take out the 2 bolts holding your stock shaft in place, bolt the new shaft in place with the included bolts, and put the shifter boot back in...and you're done. The only tools required are a 13mm wrench, and a 6mm hex socket with ratchet (or a 6mm allen wrench). You will notice a difference right away in your shifts and will wonder why you stuck with your stock shaft for so long!
The shifter boot is attached to a thin plastic frame that sticks into holes in the plastic surrounding the opening. The frame is VERY fragile and should be removed with care. On my 94, if you push forward on the back edge of the boot to disengage the locking tabs, and pull up the back end of the frame to pivot it up, the front tabs slide out of the slots.

Lou Salzano's Short Stick.... and couple Hooters chicks....

or you could just open up your glove box, remove the little coin box thinggy, remove the 2 8mm bolts/screws and lift the hole console cover off.

then you aren't messing with the little ring thing on the boot.

oh...i think you have to pull out or unplug the ashtray light.

There's detailed install procedure on "Install University" if you need instructions on how to pull the entire console. In my opinion, its way too complicated. With my 94 console, you could also remove the the top "cover" from the shifter area... everything from the dash to the ashtray. No screws.... again, push in and up an the ashtray end, and the cover popped up and pulled out of slots in the front of the console. Made a lot more room to work. Not sure if the Camaro consoles are similar.

Its about a 15 min install.... our shifter comes with very detailed instructions, and if there is ever any questions, give us a buzz while installing it, and we'll walk you thru it.

With thousands sold, we can proudly say, if you arent 100% satisfied, send it back for a full refund, including shipping, no questions asked!

BTW, still going for $24.99 with free same day priority shipping

Re: Installing Short Stick?

How is the performance of the short shifter when compared to the other aftermarket units? Is the problem with the 2-3 shift with the stock shifter base.. or the stick? I miss 3 almost everytime i get on it (yea i know driver error)

The problem doesnt lie within the shifter base, the problem is the big bulky mushy feeling stock shaft. The base of the shaft is equipped with a rubber bushing to insulate the shaft from the shifter base to reduce vibration. When you put a short stick on your stock base, it eliminates that rubber bushing giving you a solid feeling shift. It virtually eliminates missed shifts because you know if its in gear or not.

Like said above...go ahead and try one out, if you arent happy, simply return it ans we'll refund your money. No questions asked.

Thanks!
