t-56 get stuck in reverse when shifter is in neutral?!
I've never once had problems with the transmission before besides a very slight grinding when going into reverse. Usually it didn't even grind but you could tell it would if you shifted into it faster.
Anyway, tonight, I back the car out of the shop after working on it all day. Pop it in reverse, back it up, press the clutch in and pull the shifter into neutral, but when I depress the clutch it still tries to back up. I cycle the shifter a couple of times but every time I let off the clutch, its still in reverse. I finally just shut it down, pressed the clutch in and ran it through the gears and started it back up. Seemed fine. Put it back in reverse, took it out, same thing happened again.
Anyone got suggestions on whats causing this? I rebuilt the trans before I put it in with all new synchros, but that was about 1000 miles ago, never had any problems until this just a little while ago.
My first guess is the roll-pin that holds the reverse fork on the shaft dropped out or sheared off somehow and its just sliding on the shaft.
