How Many Bolts!

I am in the process of removing the transmission from my 1998 camaro z28. The Transmission does not want to come out. My question is how many bolts hold the transmission in. 9 bolts have been removed as well as the torque converter/flexplate bolts. The dipstick tube is out as well. Does anyone have any ideas or know the number of bolts?

Re: How Many Bolts!

6 bellhousing bolts and it should come out. I moved the tailshaft side to side to get it to come free, since there are 2 dowels that center the bellhousing to the block.

Re: How Many Bolts!

How would you explain there being 9 bolts that we could find in the bellhousing? I believe the lt1 and ls1 4l60e's are different. I still dont understand why it wouldn't want to come out.

Re: How Many Bolts!

Sometimes the dowel pins get some corrosion on them and they seize in their holes. My transmission guy had this problem with a friends '98. Aluminum bell housing, aluminum block, steel dowels...Not sure how he got it apart though...
