How Does Lower Gears Affect Dyno Charts

How Does Lower Gears Affect Dyno Charts

Just wondering how lower gears would affect the dyno charts. I know gears don't increase hp at the engine, but what does it to do the torque value?

Does max torque go up? Does the max torque stay the same, but it's at a lower RPM?

I'm curious, because I put down 335 ft-lbs with my 2.73s...wondering what's happened with my 3.73s.

Any ideas?

They won't effect numbers at all. Your car will just get to peak torque/HP faster. And technically dyno's don't measure HP, they measure torque. HP is a simple mathematic calculation of torque.

A bit less hp and torque (just a couple of hp) in lower gears.
