-94 Z28 auto trans (99,000) miles.
trans wont come out of drive but i can move the shifter to everyithng but it wont got into park or reverse. reverse lights still come on but it wont go into gear.

 

does if feel like the brake is on when you place in reverse ?

mine has finally quit.

 

the shifter in the console seems like it is doing nothing and it is stuck in drive. No matter wat i shift into it feels the same as drive. nuetral doesnt work either. but wen i put it into reverse the back up lights come on. could it be that soleniod that is in the trans?

 

Sounds like the shifter cable is loose or broken.

 

Get underneath and see if the cable is moving when the trans lever is moved.
