Help!! 9" w/ Detroit Locker bad problems.

I just finished the 9" install today. The housing and axles were new, but the center section with the detroit locker was somewhat used. I know that the detroit locker is suppose to make a clunk, clunk, clunk noise when turning. But sometimes when turning, usually tight turns, I will feel the whole car shake and the clunk gets real loud right at the moment the car shakes. Do I need some limited slip, or is something else wrong? Did I mess up the install? Thanks for any help.

There is no "limited slip" to a locker. Its either wide-open, or locked solid. That's why they may not the a whole lot of fun to drive on the street. When it locks up in a turn, one of the tires has to slip and that's going to cause a lot of noise and vibration. Sounds completely normal to me.

Just two more questions. Is it also normal for someone else that is not even in the car to hear it? Also could doing to much of these sharp turns begin to tear something up? Again thanks for the help.
