A Head Scratcher (LS1 M6)

Z28 will NOT go into gear with the car started.

With the car off it will go into gear, and while I turn it over it will lurch forward while in first.

I've bled the clutch today, there was a little air in the system, but it didn't fix the problem

Problem just appeared after sitting in the driveway for a few weeks.

ill call him for you

edit: just got off the phone with him, he said "do a search for your extremely obvious and common problem"

Can you call Captain Obvious back up and have him tell me what the common problem is?

I'm not mechanically inclined

clutch disengagement issue, the clutch is not releasing pressure from the disc

it could be a hydraulic issue, or even a broken pressure plate.

What things just sitting in the driveway could cause something like this though?

I mean sure a broken pressure plate could be the problem, always a possibility, but wouldn't a hydraulic issue be more in the realm of that possibility?

I've got a buddy that's coming over tomorrow to check the slave cylinder.

this is exactly where you need to start, see if you have movement at the slave - if not work back from there.,

the pressure plate could have broken when you pushed the clutch in to start the car, or a seal could have deteriorated in the time it sat - its really hard to say from this position

try a search and take a look at some of the other causes and repairs to get a better idea of what you are dealing with
