good stall speed for....
i got a 1994 trans am gt a4 and i want a converter one of the most efective mods from what i hear whats a good stall i hear 2800 is perfect but i want to know why and info i knwo the ls-1's liek the higher rpms what about the lt-1s? any and all help is appreacted thanks
A lot of folks go with the 2800 because it's a good compromise between 'driveability' and getting a great launch. Also, for us OBDI types, it's less likely to have the curse than a 3000 or higher stall - but still a very nice jump up from the stocker.
Then there are those like me (I think! lol) who just bump up the TC to more closely match whatever the cam & gears of their choice is for daily driving. Not looking for maximum effort, just something to keep everything in the same ball park.
A few have had luck overcoming the 3k stall curse, do some searches and I'm sure you'll come up with some tips if you want a stall that high.
