Gear Vendors overdrive ?

Can you shift it into overdrive under WOT? Are they getting any closer to being able to split all gears?

Yes.... it make a nice "4th gear" in my TH400 setup.

Don't know. I run mine full manual, none of the GV electronics.... what trans are you planning to run it with?

With the Gear Vendors Electronics, let say you have a 700R-4 Trans your shifts will be 1st, 1stOD,2nd, 2ndOD, 3rd, 3rdOD,4th, 4thOD.. By getting the whole set up your rpms never leave the sweet spot.. Should make for a really quick car.... I will be getting one before a power adder...

Injuneer, I'd like to try one with my 4l60E if I could split more than one gear. I'm just taking a guess here, but I would think if you could have 5 gears changes in the quarter mile, such as 1st, 1st od. 2nd, 2nd od, and 3rd gear, it would be at least 3 or 4 tenths off your ET. Sound about right, and or is there a way to figure out the results? TIA Rick

" The 700R4/4L60E was designed for improving GM's CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) ratings. Because of this it has a very low 3.06 1st gear and a very tall .70 overdrive ratio. This makes it the widest ratio automatic transmission on the planet (rear wheel drive) with only 4 gears. The GEAR VENDORS fixes the wide ratio problems so that when you want performance you have a gear between each of the factory ratios. This gives you approximately half the drop in engine rpm and torque multiplication (see final drive ratios).

You can easily have increases in horsepower in the 50+ range and torque boosts of 70lbs ft. just by gear splitting. With 8 forward gears available the motor stays in a narrow rpm band of performance. The .78 ratio of the GEAR VENDORS gives an alternative overdrive ratio to the very tall factory gear and the GEAR VENDORS can be used with virtually unlimited horsepower (if it is 1200hp or less it gets the standard product).
