Question Flexplate Questions

What weight is the factory 153-tooth flexplate? Who makes a lighter one of equal or higher strength? I'm looking to loose a few pounds of rotation mass without losing the strength of the stock unit.

Flexplates are already pretty weak and lightweight stock - we go to a thicker unit on the high hp cars. Look elsewhere for weight reduction...

TCI makes an LT-1 "SFI" approved flexplate (both balanced and unbalanced versions) that is a safety upgrade.

Meziere makes a billet flex-plate that weighs 6#. I have never seen anyone use it, and have never heard anything about it, other than ads in magazines.

GM LT-1
FP318A
6.0#
153-teeth
Stk. GM LT-1 inner bolt pattern
3 on 10.75 & 3 on 11.05 converter patterns

I run a B&M SFI flex-plate.
