Which fill hole should I use?

I just put in 373 motive gears, T/a cover, and an Auburn pro series posi into my 10 bolt. Which fill hole should I trust as far as the proper level of fluid in my rear. I have one fill plug on the side of the pumpkin and now I have one on the new T/A cover. Fluid is up to the base of the hole on the pumpkin, but I can't feel it at the base of the filler hole on the cover. Does overfilling your rearend hurt it? I think I've put about 2 1/2 quarts in and I still can't feel it at the base of the cover fill hole. The capacity is listed at 1.75. And no my rearend is not lifted of the ground, its completly level. Anyone?

Filler hole on the pumkin. Filled mine to there. I think if you over filled it, it would be like adding parasitic drag, but that's just me, and it would be so minor.

What is parasitic drag?

Exactly like it sounds. It's extra drag that isn't needed, so it's like a parasite. Basically something that you could do without. I think filling it to the hole on the cover would be fine. The drag would be so little it wouldn't matter.
