Question Driveshaft length with Moser 12-bolt

Typically how much of a shorter driveshaft do I need when swtiching to a Moser 12-bolt. I'm planning on getting my 1LE driveshaft shortened.

It's 1/2-3/4" typically. But you really need to get it installed and measure. Test install it and meaure how much shorter it needs to be by looking at how far the yoke engages the output splines of the tranny. You want between 3/4-1" of slip travel (with the suspension supported or on the ground).

If you need a 12-bolt though, I wonder of a 1LE DS is going to be strong enough. Use a DS loop, just in case it proves not up to the task. If you decide to get a new shaft, I have good luck with Dynatech and with Denny's. Dynatech ships incredibly fast, so I have been ordering from them lately. Denny's sems to take a couple of weeks lately.

Thanks for the info. I know the 1LE might not be up to the task but I'm dumping so much money in the car right now I just need something so I can move the car around I might just shorten the stock driveshaft and sell the 1LE. I'll be spending nearly 2000$ on Spohn suspension parts so I'll probably get one of his driveshafts. But now that you've mentioned dynatech I'll look into that too.

I would also recommend measuring after it's installed as well. When I dropped my Strange 12-Bolt in, I had a Denny's Nitrous Ready shaft made for me, and my measurements were NOT typical, for some reason my DS actually needed to be longer, not shorter, than most 4th Gen F-Bodies with the Strange (By almost 3/4" longer).
