Drive shaft angle question

Hi, so i had problems with my LT exhaust knocking aginst the frame. What I have done to stop the knock is Cut out 1/4" peices of steel and made brackets that fit inbetween the tranny cross member and the body.

My question is will this change the driveshaft angle to where it will hurt it?

I just tested it on a short drive down the road and I dont have any knocking or Any excess vibration coming from the driveshaft.

Just wondering what the guys here with more experince than i do think.

thanks

Pictures of what you did would help.

You will perfectly fine. I have done a similar thing but I actually raised the tranny off the cross member by 1/2".

Did nothing to the angle.

I will try to get some pictures up tomorrow. It is driving fine. I don't think the 1/4" is making any differnce in the driveshaft. And on the good note, There is no exhaust knocking.

You could drop the transmission 6 inches and be fine as long as it's output shaft and the differential's pinion are parallel.
The U-joints are 90degrees out of phase so they cancel out each other's elliptical paths as the shaft rotates. Although, the higher the angle, the quicker the joint will wear and you can run into issues transfering power around severe "corners".
You should be just fine. Go 150mph and see if it vibrates

Why not just put a level on the tranny, the DS and the pinion and see how it lines up?

well I think its going to be ok. The angles did not change very much at all.

Here is a link to the Brackets I made they are about 1/4" thick. Let me know what you guys think.
