CPT - Cahall Performance TRansmissions - no longer exists
CPT was a reliable builder of the 4L60E transmission. A few years back Frank Cahall passed away. His wife Gail (who ran a performance parts business) kept the transmission business open, and appeared to be successful. However, in March of 2024 it was announced that Gail Cahall passed away. As a result, CPT is no longer in business.
I recommended CPT to many people over the years. I was contacted recently by a member here who had sent his trans to CPT, prepaid for part of the work, but never received his trans back. I have looked into the situation and the info I have received (not founded on any "official" notice) is that the State of Delaware seized the assets of the estate - common when there was no will, and no immediate relative serving as "Administrator". At this point I have recommended to the individual who contacted me to look into the procedure for processing monetary of property claims against the estate through the State of Delaware. I have no legal knowledge of the process, nor whether this is even possible.
If you have a similar issue, please let me know so that we can help other members find a way to pursue recovery.
