Review on my dealings with CPT
Review on my dealings with CPT
When my Trans blew up in October of last year I hadnt the least bit of knowledge of what to do with it or who to send it to for a real Race rebuild!
After being Reffered to CPT By another fellow board member I spoke to Frank for a couple of months b4 making the decision to send it from Canada to CPT in Elkton MD, during that time Frank filled me in on what makes the 4L60E a weak transmission in stock form and what it needed to be able to handle what I was gonna through at it . so in short he did not try just to sell me on one of the CPT 4L60E Transmissions he educated me on them which helped me to see that he was really the right man for the job!
In february I shipped the trans down to him and he contacted when he recived it and once it was torn apart he sent me pics of what was broken and why and how it broke and also sent me pics of what he was replacing it with to make it stronger,
The trans was ready to ship back to me in about a weeks time
Frank also went completly out of his way to meet one of my drivers near by to his shop and helped him load the trans up and get it back to me! no other automotive shop I ever dealt with has gone the extra mile like this.
And now finally the trans was installed in my car over the weekend and all I have to say is WOW!! it shifts amazing! under part throttle the shifts are firm but not uncomfortable and then when you drop the hammer..... it shifts like a completely different car!! chirps 1-2 and then 2-3 easily, all I can say is that it feels great!
As well as the trans i purchased a 3200 RPM stall PROTORQUE converter form CPT and its absolutly great as well the car has maintained its street manners and launches like and animal with the ET Streets!
Thanks alot Frank for all your help and a kick *** trans &converter package that fit s my car and needs just perfect!!!!

Re: Review on my dealings with CPT
Gary,
Thanks for the feedback. We're happy to hear you like the transmission/converter combination we put together for you. It's our goal to make sure all of our customers are satisfied with our transmissions AND our service. Sometimes it takes a little "going out of your way" to help a customer out.
We're racers and F-Body enthusiast, too. We know what it's like when we're the "customer", and how much we appreciate it when someone goes out of their way to help us out.
Frank
