Wink calling anyone with a street twin

I just put in my McLeod street twin. Feels good but it chaders in first. I know that this is expected until it breaks in but for how many miles and how bad? also where is your pedal set??

no chater at all from mine.

My pedal is set about an 1.5 inch below the brake pedal, but could come up a hair

The chatter went away from mine at about 400-500 miles. I have te pedal engagement point set about 3/4 of the way from the top.

Mine used to chatter REALLY badly at first, when I had 3.23s. I have 3.42s now and it's got a few thousand on it and it doesn't chatter as bad.

BUT...I believe torque greatly reduces chatter as the mechanical advantage helps get the car moving making it easier on the clutch when you engage it in first gear.

So those with more torque may have a smoother feeling Street Twin than those with less torque.

mine still chatters just a tad (though its worth the mention that i have the older style s/t that came with the slave rebuild kit)

and u metion more torque, but i doubt torque of any fbody would differ much from another one under 1500 rpm where u engage the clutch !

That's not true. A fully forged blown 396 with 12 pound of boost is going to make more torque than a completely stock Z no matter where you look on the RPM range.

Just got my street twin in the mail, top of the install sheet says its ready to install, bottom says I should have it balanced, and so does a local machine shop. I dropped it off with him today with my old flywheel. I did the right thing correct?
