big block + t-56

Alright I`ve got a t-56 nailed down for a decent price..it`s a fourth gen lt1 unit, I`ll have all the clutch parts and other odds~n~ends, what or who makes a flywheel to mate these two together(454 big block)? or should I keep saving and buy the aftermarket 6 er?

thats kinda iffy....but i dont think i would trust it...454's throw a ton of torque...i say if youre putting more than 400/400 to the ground i would look for something more manlier

T-56s can take 400/400 to the ground and much more without issue most of the time. If not, D&D Performance can make that tranny hold just about anything so there's no problem getting the T-56 you have lined up, they are extremely tough. Can't help you on the flywheel part though but I did always wonder about mating a T-56 to a big block....

McLeod makes a modular "universal", SFI-rated bellhousing that allows the T56 to be used with virtually any engine. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that they can only use the LS1 version of the F-Body T56, because they only want to use a conventional "pusher" type clutch assembly.
