balancing new mcleod street twin to old setup
Ok, before you start shaking your head, here is the scoop:
I have a motor that I built in the car, at about 520hp at the crank, naturally aspirated, daily driven.
When I had my motor balanced, they wanted the stock flywheel too. So, my stock clutch setup is mated to my motor, for better or for worse.
So, can I now have the new mcleod street twin spun up and matched exactly to the stocker? Is that something that is doable?
Next question, where do you even start to have something like this done? I know the stock one has a factory imbalance in it, but if they had to machine a little bit from anywhere on the flywheel then the little bolt on peice from Mcleod is now null and void.
Ugh, I wish I would have had the money to just do it all at once. But, its been 6 years in the making, and Im finally completing the running gear.
Thanks for your help!

yup, just talked to them... they said for $50 they could spin it up and match it to the old one. woop woop!
Only problem is, I hope they dont make me take the clutch disks off the flywheel of the new one... those shims and stuff are gonna suck if they do.

sure enough, had to pull it apart. But the balance was waaaay off, I dont know why mcleod says it will bold right up. My advice to anyone is to spin up the new flywheel always just to make sure there wont be a vibration once it is all back together!!
